After reading the latest email newsletter from the Stephen Huneck Gallery, I felt that I should share the message that Gwen Huneck sent.
That and Keeping Dog Mountain Going
*Free Gold Heart Magnet
I am going to share with you two touching articles that just came out, one in Yankee Magazine’s July/August issue and the other one in the July 7th issue of Valley Advocate.
In both articles, I tried to be totally honest about Stephen’s life long struggle with depression. I hope to help at least one person that is struggling with depression or has a loved who is. You are certainly not alone. I always encourage every one to express their feelings, to be their authentic selves, to share your true feelings with friends, family, a school counselor, your doctor or pastor or who ever you feel most comfortable talking to.
This is absolutely critical. There is no shame in feeling depressed anymore than there is any shame in catching the measles. This is unfortunately a cultural bias that I for one hope to change by speaking out and being honest. I can’t bring Stephen back, but at least I can try to help others who suffered like he did. That’s what Stephen would have wanted.
*To remind us everyday the importance of having an
Open Heart we will include a free Golden Heart Magnet (put it on your fridge and you will see it at least once a day) with all orders who enter the word LOVE in the comments field at check out.
With love and gratitude,
Gwen Huneck
