Once Looked Like This…

The flooding is not only in the south this month. Lake Champlain is three feet plus over the flood level, and many friend of mine have lost their land. Everything is under water…the Marinas, 500 homes, all beaches and the lakeside parks have vanished. The ferry boat landing, the road to the islands, the Burlington breakwater, and the wonderful bike path on the causeway are all underwater, eroded, and damaged.
Simply stated, we are a national disaster area. The lake has never been this high, and the river towns inland are also flooded. Streets are now rivers themselves and people are using boats to get to their homes. There are millions of dollars of damage and most people in this area don’t have flood insurance.
