Even in the rain in March, the High Line is super!
I just came back from NYC. The High Line was top on my list to see. It was raining. Drats. So What. I took the subway, and walked around construction until I found 10th and 28th st. Looked up high, and there it was. Finding stairs next door, I took them up and up and up. My umbrella went inside out, so I put up the hood on my rain coat, and my iphone in a pocket and out I went. I had visited the archtiects site before going, so I knew what to look for. It was simply wonderful. The old RR tracks, grasses, crocus, plants, whispy wind blown trees, lounge chairs. Huge spaces between or inside of … [Read more...]

Shape Note Singing
The other day I was able to join the Sacred Harp Community of Vermont and take some photos. The experience was so great that I wanted to share with you the photos from that day and a note that I recieved. "Wow, these are amazing photos!! It was so nice you were able to come to the singing yesterday! I saw you taking a few photos, but I had no idea you were hard at work doing such an incredible documentation of the day! Our style of singing is usually really hard to capture in photos since the hands move so fast and there are usually big windows all around the room, turning people into … [Read more...]

Merry Christmas!
The Making of a Christmas Gift to You
This year's Christmas card is going to be something a little different. Not only will it be a Special Edition, but there will be an amazing poem from Jerry Johnson on the inside. Creating the card was a lot of fun and here is how I did it.Step One: I took the original photo from my iPhone. Step Two: Now is where the fun part starts. I isolated the house and the tree to play around with the lights. I added lights, took them away, and then added them again. In the end, I took out the tree completely and moved on to the background. There were different gradients and color combinations added … [Read more...]
I can’t be the only who hates cameras!
